El servicio permitirá compartir las películas con hasta seis usuarios y se podrán reproducir en diversos dispositivos: televisores, ‘smartphones’ y videoconsolas entre otros. La creación de ‘UltraViolet’ se ha anunciado durante el CES 2011 y es la confirmación de que las compañías han decidido convivir contra internet y no luchar contra ella.

La lucha más eficaz contra la piratería es mejorar las plataformas y los contenidos en la red. Y, aunque más tarde que iniciativas como Netflix, esta ha sido la estrategia que han decidido adoptar algunas de las compañías más importantes de Hollywood.

Warner, Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures y Twentieth Century Fox han sido las majors que han apostado por la distribución en la red con Ultraviolet Media.
